In the second quarter of 2024, the theme parks category has seen interesting developments in app performance. Our data from Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into the trends for the top five theme parks apps on a unified platform.
Disneyland® Paris showed a fluctuating trend in revenue, starting at $51K in the first week of April and dipping to zero in early May, before a slight resurgence to $10K by the end of June. Downloads, however, displayed a significant uptick from 244K to 686K, and weekly active users grew from 715K to 1.28M during the quarter.
LEGOLAND® Billund Resort maintained a revenue of $0 throughout the quarter. However, downloads saw a remarkable jump from 39K to 1.1M, and weekly active users had a substantial increase from 37 to 544.
Universal Studios Japan also reported no revenue for the quarter. Downloads for the app ranged modestly between 21K and 80K, while weekly active users showed a gradual increase from 130 to 159.
My Disney Experience experienced an erratic revenue pattern, with peaks of $63K and $127K interspersed with weeks at $1K or less. Downloads varied modestly between 16K and 80K, and the app's weekly active users saw a growth from 91 to 98.
Lastly, Universal Orlando Resort had no revenue throughout the quarter. Downloads started at a low 15K but rose to 63K by June's end. Weekly active users saw a moderate climb from 131 to 148.
